 After the Paris Attacks:

UK religious leaders were called to open an Interfaith Peace Dialogue

London, England- A revolutionary event attracted and brought many prominent religious leaders together in London. On March 26th 2015 at St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, representatives from various faiths including a Muslim leader, Mr. Syed Yousif Al Khoei OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire), Rabbi Jackie Tabikk representing Judaism, Venerable Bhatsakorn Piyyobhaso, a Buddist, and Dr. Jay Lakhani, head of the Hindu Academy as well as Christian leaders were in present to open and support the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Office Meeting hosted by an international peace organization, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (“HWPL”).  The leaders came together to make a collaborative effort in demonstrating the creative solutions to world peace solely based on their religious scriptures.

As the recent terrorist attacks in Paris has shaken the cross-border regions in Europe and the entire world, there is a growing concern and debate about a need for a resolution to imminent danger posed by extremists. Considering the controversial issue, the religious leaders in London gathered to help mitigate the devastation from atrocities by misrepresented religious group and propose an effective way to solve an ever-increasing threat of terror and war. They were happy to be a part of such a pioneering event which will lay the foundation of a new era of world peace. Through deepening their understanding of the concept of peace spoken in various religious texts, at the WARP Office Meeting, the participants were reminded of their duty as religious leaders to guide and positively influence their congregations to live in a harmonious society. Both participants and audiences said they were unaware that each religion comprises of many reciprocal views and in that, there is a hope that religions can indeed be united as one in the near future. Rabbi Jackie Tabick expressed her views after the meeting and stated, “I had a great time and I want to participate again next time. We may also discuss more on certain topics to understand further and study each religious scripture to be able to work for peace.”

The WARP Office Meeting – Peace Dialogue based on Scriptures was held as a continuous peace movement of the WARP Summit which took place in Seoul, South Korea from September 17th through 19th 2014. Orchestrated by Mr. Man Hee Lee, Chairman of HWPL and Ms. Nam Hee Kim, Chairwoman of International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG), the summit brought world renowned leaders from all walks of life as well as representatives of 200 affiliated organisations of International Peace Youth Group (IPYG), youth division of HWPL.  Former and current heads of state, prime ministers, premiers, heads of parliaments, chief justices, journalists and reporters from various foreign national broadcasting stations, and finally all people who want and live for peace came to Korea to show the rest of the world their concerted efforts to bring about world peace. Aiming to draft an agreement pertaining to international law for the cessation of wars, HWPL called the international community to implement the act and protect the citizens from any potential disputes.

Since then, there has been a public awakening across all continents of the world and HWPL WARP offices are arising to hold interfaith peace dialogue sessions which seek to demonstrate and provide a common goal of mankind through the scriptures. While the world witnessed the tragic incident of the Paris attacks, the U.K .WARP office showed a commitment of the leaders of today to prevent conflicts occurred due to the religious misunderstandings and continue to take active steps in the peace-making process through this global-scaled movement for peace.
